Nature is one of the most imporant themes traversing the work of André Masson. Constantly changing, and deeply impacted by the precepts of Heraclitus and the German Romantics, like Goethe and Novalis, Nature for André Masson is an ever changing encounter between the forces of creation and destruction. All throughout his career, Masson will revisit constantly the theme of Nature, to create his own mythology of it.
