During WWII, an exodus of intellectuals and artists leaves Europe. Between 1941 and 1945, New-York briefly becomes the Surrealist capital of the world. Masson, escaping the Occupation together with other members of the Surrealist group, including André Breton,  is no exception. Between his arrival in 1941 and his departure, he will create some of the most significant works of his career.
